The Liberal Democrats will definitely stand a candidate here whether Gavin is the Libertarian candidate or not.

Stunning revelation!

I was responding to the frankly silly suggestion in the comment above that the Lib Dems may not stand against Gavin!

No-one ever comments on it, but this seat does have a rather weird shape around its northern reaches. It goes all the way up to include an area around Mayfield near Ashbourne. I don't think that area has anything in common with Burton-on-Trent at all and is really part of Staffordshire Moorlands in all but name. It would be easy to prune that section off in order to boost the electorate in Moorlands since this seat has a growing population and is heading for 80,000 voters.

The nothern stuff is Uttoxeter hinterland rather than Burton hinterland.  The seat should really be called East Staffs.
